Shane Ellis, Chief of Police

Shane Ellis has been a local resident of DeSoto County for a majority of his life and has faithfuly served the citizens and community of Hernando as an Officer for the Hernando Police Department for 28 years, also becoming a graduate of the FBI National Academy session 265.  He has held positions within patrol, investigations, and leadership roles within the uniformed patrol division before being appointed as the Assistant Chief of Police where he served the department for 15 years.


Charles Lanphere,Assistant Chief of Police

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Charles Lanphere brings with him an extensive amount of experience, having worked a large portion of his career in a investigative capacity, including narcotics investigation, criminal investigation, S.W.A.T. operations, as well as uniformed patrol.

 

Kyle Hodge, Captain of Operations

A lifelong resident of DeSoto County, Kyle Hodge began his law enforcement career with the Southaven Police Department in 1998.  Since that time, he has worked within Uniform Patrol and K-9 Divisions and spent the majority of his career as an Investigator within Special Investigation Divisions, SWAT Operator, Tactical Marksman and a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration.  Hodge was selected to participate in the The Drug Unit Commanders Academy hosted by the DEA in Quantico, VA and completed the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association's Training Trilogy.  Hodge graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and has earned a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University.
